It’s no difficult feat to sell someone on the idea of strawberry shortcake; the light and airy vanilla cake, fresh tart strawberries, and rich whip cream make up (in my mind) the perfect dessert.
In the last few months, strawberry shortcake has been selling like hot cakes because it is a well balanced dessert- not too sugary or rich, but rather refreshing, thanks to the fresh berries.

The miniature cupcake version contains the strawberries in the batter, while the cake version has a center filled with the whip cream and berries, but is then iced with classic vanilla buttercream icing.
